Friday Five 009

Here’s what I’m loving this week…

A new way to shave
I’ve seen ads for Billie everywhere lately, and then while on a flight last week, I noticed several magazines ranked it as the best razor for women. This week, I finally cracked and setup my account. I’ll receive a razor, blade cartridges, and a magnetic holder in the next few days, and then new cartridges will arrive every few months. I love that I got to choose the frequency of the shipment and I won’t have to remember to order later!

A dipped manicure
I’ve been fed up with gel manicures for a while now — to the point that I’d given up on getting my nails done. Last week I tried a SNS powder manicure and I’m really pleased with the result. It has barely grown out and not chipped at all! Visiting the nail salon is one of my favorite forms of self-care, so I’m glad I get to add it back into my routine.

A new recipe for mango chicken curry
After a few weeks of feeling bored with the same old recipes, I pulled out my copy of Bread and Wine hoping for inspiration. I found Shauna’s mango chicken curry recipe and I was so excited to try it that I made it the next night. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend making it on a weeknight (it is a little time consuming), but it’s great for a slow weekend or night when you want to enjoy some time in the kitchen. Or, if you double team the prep on the day-of (or prep ahead), you could make it any night of the week!

An oldie but goodie
Zach and I restarted Downtown Abbey (we never got all the way through!) and I’d forgotten how much I love this show. Oh my goodness. We’re through the Season 2 Christmas episode already and I’ve looked forward to watching it every night this week.

A new source of encouragement
Morgan Harper Nichols has popped up in my Pinterest feed for a while and I found myself loving her work (late to the party, again). I started following her on Instagram this week (@morganharpernichols) and love the daily inspiration. I also had no idea she had published books! They will definitely make my Christmas list this year.
