Here’s what I’m loving this week…
This new-to-me skincare line
I won’t even lie to you. I’m obsessed with the Balancing face oil from Town & Anchor. I first heard about this brand from my friend Lindsey, whose studio created all the branding (which is gorgeous). My mom has been using the Restoring face oil and can’t stop talking about it. They’ve also teased the release of new products later this year — yay! This article on “sorry” and “thank you” people
I came across this article yesterday and found myself nodding the whole time I read. A sneak peek: “I used to shrug off implications that I apologize too much — what’s the harm? — but that game of musical chairs changed me. There’s a sort of emotional chess to using these words, and they can say a lot about the person uttering them.” If you take a moment to read, let me know what you think!
These blue light glasses
Let’s be real. In my line of work, I stare at my laptop almost all day. Then when I’m home, I scroll through my phone or watch TV. I’m exposed to far too much blue light on a daily basis. So I did some research on a few different options and ordered a pair of glasses from Felix Gray to protect my eyes from blue light and glare while working. I opted for the non-Rx option since I wear contacts most days, but they are available in Rx and readers. (When I order new Rx glasses in a few weeks, I’ll be opting for blue light protection on those as well.) I can already tell a huge difference after wearing them this week! They have a variety of unisex styles available — I opted for the Faraday in black.
This method for folding clothes
Marie Kondo’s Tidying Up has gained an intense following this month, and I have to admit that I’ve only watched the first episode. I can’t deal with the family drama, but I’ll take organization tips all day long. I love her technique for folding clothes — it saves so much space! If you’re not interested in the show, you can watch this two minute YouTube video. For those of you who have watched the entire season, what’s been your favorite organization tip?
This spring line
Full disclosure: I’m not spending money on non-essentials right now, so it’s slight torture to share this find with you, but I hope you get to enjoy it in my place. Zach’s cousin introduced me to Carly Jean Los Angeles through a series of Instagram giveaways last week, and I’ve been drooling over their January launch since. They also started doing daily deals on Instagram, so be sure to check those out. There are incredible finds for any capsule wardrobe there. My favorite pieces of the new line: the Brynn top, the Charley overalls, and the Celine kimono — but everything is adorable.
That’s what I’ve got for you! What are you loving this week?
